America’s Game

“On the fields of friendly strife are sown the seeds that on other days, upon other fields, will bear the fruit of victory.”

GENERAL MACARTHUR,
USMA Superintendent 1919-1922

Upon entry to West Point and Annapolis, the first two words arriving freshmen are expected to embody are either Beat Navy or Beat Army. The week leading up to the game is highly anticipated, full of tradition such as bonfires, pep rally’s and mischief. It is a friendly opportunity to prank the opposing school as well as your academy’s upper class.

The Army Navy game is a storied rivalry, packed with history on and off the field. For the respective academies, it is the biggest game of the year and for most, the last of their athletic career. At the conclusion of the school year, the senior class of both academies will be commissioned as officers and together, will join our country’s military team. If you have the opportunity to watch, attend or participate in, do it, you won’t regret it.

As a company, we strongly support the military community and their families. This past giving Tuesday, we donated to both the Navy Seal Foundation and Navy Academy Athletics Association. As an academy grad and Navy veteran owned business, it’s Army week at the shop!

GO NAVY, BEAT ARMY!

A little bit about the garment.

The letters were cut from up-cycled fabric and stitched by hand on a mid-weight crewneck sweatshirt, size large. The blue and gold stripes signify the Naval Academy’s colors, namesake of the alma mater and vintage style paying tribute to the legacy of “the yard.”

Stay tuned for some more threads throughout the week and be sure to follow us @motion.spply for updates, discounts and new product drops.
